The upcoming ACL season launches with expanded Interstate events, a nationwide Open schedule, and a refreshed ACL Pro format.
ROCK HILL, SC – The ACL (American Cornhole League) has announced early details for the 2026/27 season. The season is built on an expanded Interstate event schedule, the return of ACL Opens, and Signature Opens across the country, and an updated competition format for ACL Pro events.
Following another exciting season of competition across all levels of the ACL, the upcoming season will introduce new opportunities for players to compete, earn ACL points, and experience ACL events across the country.
INTERSTATE EVENTS EXPAND EARLY-SEASON OPPORTUNITIES
At least 10 Interstate events are scheduled throughout the country for the 2026/27 season, providing additional opportunities for players to compete for ACL points between the start of the season and the national Open schedule.
Beginning October 1, Interstate events will take center stage during the opening months of the upcoming season. The Interstates set the tone for the year and creates additional opportunities for players to compete for ACL points before the national Open schedule gets underway.
Host locations and Directors have been selected using multiple performance and market metrics, with an emphasis on competitive participation, player engagement, event performance and opportunities for continued growth.
Specific Interstate dates and locations will be announced separately.
2026/27 ACL OPEN, SIGNATURE OPEN & INTERSTATE SCHEDULE

HIGH SCHOOL & COLLEGIATE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS SET FOR MARCH 2027
The ACL will introduce a new championship weekend for high school and collegiate competition during the 2026/27 season.
Based on feedback from the Collegiate Cornhole Committee and with a focus on extending the competitive season for high school and collegiate players, the 2027 National High School Cornhole Championships (HSCC) and National College Cornhole Championships (NCCC) will be held in conjunction with the Michigan Open in March 2027.
ACL PRO COMPETITION EVOLVES FOR 2026/27
The 2026/27 season will also introduce an updated format called 21 or 21 for all ACL Pro competition. ACL Pro events moving forward will be formatted to first to 21 points or final score at the end of 21 rounds.
The format creates a defined competitive window while maintaining the traditional race to 21. The new format will add another strategic element to matches at the highest level of ACL competition.
The change is part of the continued evolution of the ACL Pro program as the league looks to create an exciting and competitive viewing experience for players and fans.
